Originally an assistant to several Magnum photographers, Zak has for many years freelanced for the quality UK press and news agencies. In addition he has many corporate clients as well as pursuing projects close to his own heart when time allows.

At this time and with the help of the Princes Trust Zak moved fully into the freelance world where 11 years later he has developed a very successful career, having shot pictures for an enormous variety of organisations and people like Stern Magazine, The Guardian, the Independent, Black Star (New York), Agence VU (Paris), REA (Paris), Springer News (Berlin), Le Point, The Mail on Sunday, TES, The Sunday Telegraph, The Sunday Times Magazine, The Observer, Forum, ES Magazine, Boots, Heritage Lottery Fund, Cap Gemini UK, Candis Magazine, In The Know Magazine and many, many more.
